Mission Marshall is working with Harrison County United Way to bring Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library to local preschool children. After the parent signs up for the program, preschool children of Marshall who live within the Marshall Independent School District boundaries will start receiving free books in the mail. Every child in Marshall’s program will receive one age-appropriate book per month from birth to age five.
As of July 20, 2021 a total of 592 area children receive books and 937 children have graduated from Imagination Library. Over 38,000 books have been sent to Marshall preschoolers through Imagination Library.
Business and Individual Sponsors Needed
Though the Dollywood Foundation Mission Marshall can implement this program for only $25 per child enrolled each year. That’s only $2.08 per month for the book and the mailing of the book. If you would like to partner with Mission Marshall and the Harrison County United Way by sponsoring a child, donations may be made payable to Mission Marshall, PO Box 1601, Marshall TX 75671. Please designate on your check that the donation is for the Dolly Parton Imagination Library.
